Conditions of subsidy to encourage employment have been changed from 16th of July, 2020

The availability of the job-creating wage subsidy that can be applied for from 18th May 2020 has been limited from the 16th of July, 2020. From this date, it is no longer enough for the employer to employ a jobseeker registered at the Labour Authority, an additional condition is that the employee should be considered as disadvantaged.

Based on the information in the announcement, a disadvantaged job seeker is a person who has been registered as a jobseeker for at least six months prior to the application, or who has not yet reached the age of 25 (aged 15-24).

Claims submitted until the 15th of July, 2020 will be evaluated based on the previous regulations, however, from the 16th of July the subsidy can be claimed only for disadvantaged jobseekers.

The amount of the subsidy remained the same, it is still HUF 200.000 per month.

The duration also has not changed, the subsidy can be claimed for a period of 6 months, but the employer must maintain the employment for an additional 3 months.

You can read our previous summary about the subsidy here.
